After getting most of the video out of the way I moved on to finalizing the commercial. Since I am still using video star I already knew how to work the app. There has not been many difficulties with the apps or materials just with the filming. Trying to decide where to film has been hard. With old videos I just choose a piece from there and I crop it and add it in. With the new filming I do not like any of the videos I took and the ones I do like can’t be used because I am on school campus. With the theme of mirrorball I wanted to focus on academics but you can’t really do that outside of school. The video is now fully done, this is a update, and I am deciding what to cut. There is a bit of panning in the overall video, but I tried to make the movement less extreme. I overall think mirrorball was the best choice for the video. I recorded at the beach, at the restaurant, and basically everywhere else I went. I added in a picture of the neighborhood I grew up in because it has become gentrified by tourists and the Miami I knew looks different. I am choosing to blur out all faces besides my own and I slowed down videos I took so the viewer can look more closely at the moment I am trying to catch. Not all of true videos are slowed down because I wanted some to be sudden and quick as if they were not really there at all. This is because I want to convey the message that life moves by fast, and you can’t be stuck up on one thing the entire time. The pictures won’t be up long for either since I am mostly using pictures of my younger self. It will start with me being young and it will end to me now to show that even though I got older I will always be the same girl. The order is important and it helps me convey another message of mirrorball. I have changed and I reflect a image back to others that is not truly me. It may be hard to see it without understanding the song, and without flat out stating it but the part of the song that I chose may help. The lyrics of mirrorball are impactful.
