Critical Reflection Questions

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-i4rUw1qkl4a4qeyLrzIVZE5YkOvt9eNqXXFE0jg0p8/edit How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues? My product challenges the conventions that the media has put out. The music video is all about loving yourself truly and freely. The video does not have any character that goes under the knife to look better, but this is uncommon. Usually when a woman in film is insecure, she undergoes a surgery, or she starts to work out to change how she looks so she is finally happy with herself. The character in my music video learns self-love and grows to be happy with her natural self. I wanted this change to be obvious to send out the message that you do not need to change yourself to be happy. You can go down so many other paths to become happy. By the end of the video the viewer can understand that beauty is not defined by what other people think and that they can learn to grow to love their natural selves.

Production Blog: scenes changes

Going into this project I realized I would have to step out of my comfort zone. But I decided I wouldn't make myself do anything I didn't want to do. I realized that some scenes I said I would film I was not comfortable with doing. I changed two scenes. For scene 6 I made it into the character play the guitar. She isn't enjoying it like she used to. She used to enjoy doing this but now it just makes her sad. I might use a scene where the character is doing it happily to show this message but I do not know yet. I have all of the other scenes. The scene where the girl asks her mother about surgeries was also changed. Now she is looking up surgeries that she would like to have. Since all of my scenes are done I just have to wait on my other members scenes. My main contribution besides my scenes is the editing. We all decided it would be best if I edited the scenes because I am familiar with editing platforms. We should all have finished the music video by later today and I

Production Blog: Editing the music video and changes to the original plan

I ended up having to change a few scenes because of my group dynamic. It would have not worked out if I kept the scenes as they were. The other scenes that were not filmed by me were filmed in split videos. While it is still all the same scene it complicated things for me. Combining  the scenes together was not as easy as I thought it would be. Me and my group were a little behind schedule but I am catching up. I ended up finding actors for 3 of the scenes. This helped me and relieved me of some of the pressure. I am glad I could edit and see more faces. Of course the music video is about 1-2 girls. So each actor will be playing the same girl/girls throughout the music video. I am editing with video star so it made things easier for me since I am very familiar with the platform. The music video is close to done and so far I am very happy with my results. The picture above is one of the actors I got. This scene is scenes 6, at this point the character in the music video vegans to compa
